Team Satisfaction Survey

There are two primary objectives of any business. Satisfaction of the customer and that of the team. Both are interdependent. Your team will be happy if the customer is happy as they will get fulfilment in their work and will also grow as the business grows on the backbone of customer satisfaction. If you expect the customer to be made happy with an unhappy and a miserable lot of team members, you are utterly wrong.

It is therefore as important to have a team satisfaction survey as a customer satisfaction survey.
Here is a practical example of what you can do.

Prepare a questionnaire of what you and your team think are important parameters to measure as team’s satisfaction. An example is given below:

The form is filled anonymously with appropriate column of Excellent, Good, Satisfactory or Poor ticked.
After all forms are filled, a tally is made of the number of ticks made in each column giving 4 marks for each excellent, 3 for each good, 2 for each satisfactory and 1 for each poor entry.

For each question these marks are totalled. If you have 10 team members, the maximum you can get for a question is 40 and the minimum 10.

The questions can then be arranged according to the highest marks obtained.

This way you will know the best and the worst attributes of your company as far as team satisfaction is considered.

In a typical case, it may be found that the best attribute you had was of question 7 Learning Opportunity, followed by 1 and 2 of Trust and Mutual Respect. The last were 9 and 10 compensation and sharing of profits.

This gives an excellent opportunity to understand the problems and aspirations of your team and correct yourself where required to ensure that your team really works as a cohesive team to ensure customer satisfaction leading to increased profit and growth.
